Parent Training:

Parents are essential to the success of each child. The Centre strives to include parents in all aspects of therapy, from goal and objective development to treatment strategies and behavior management skills. Our ultimate aim is a consistency of programming across all settings.

Supervision & Consultation:

Frequent meetings with clients to be determined in consultation with parents, the Center will

(a) assist parents and ABA case managers in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans,
(b) demonstrate new behavioral and educational interventions to be introduced into the child’s program of therapies, and
(c) provide parents and therapists training in effective techniques for managing everything from self-stimulatory behavior to friendship development.

Workshops:

The Centre organizes and presents workshops and open lectures on the theory and implementation of ABA, specific applications for children with autism, practical training in therapy technique with specific children, and the development and implementation of treatment plans.

School Teachers Training & Consultation

Upon the request of parents or teachers, the Centre has established a Special Education Team that provides training to educators on effective strategies for including children with special needs in the typical classroom setting. Teacher and assistant training may focus on inclusion techniques, as well as training and supervision in providing one-on-one therapy in specially prepared or after-school settings within the school campus.

Developmental Educators

Developmental Educators will work in conjunction with the child’s therapy team implementing and monitoring cognitive, academic, and behavioral goals as set out in the IFSP. Therapy may include home-based or center-based services. Therapy may consist of one-on-one therapy, educational play groups, or co-treatment with Speech and Language Pathologists or Occupational Therapists, depending on the child’s needs.
